CAFÉ CRÈME, three numbers, circa 1984

In its early days (1984), Café-Crème magazine was an experimental platform for young, emerging Luxembourg talent (designers, photographers, painters, architects) in a broader international context, with major figures in contemporary art of the 1980s, mainly European and American.

Taking advantage of the then-emerging opportunities for assisted publishing, founding members Paul Bretz, Paul di Felice and Pierre Stiwer published a glamour magazine, which evolved into a contemporary art magazine with a focus on photography after a few issues.

It was distributed internationally in museum stores and selected bookstores in Europe and the USA for a short period. It was the very first magazine published on computer in Luxembourg. (Notice from the cafecreme-art.lu website)
