The Marquis de Chambray's crew, active between 1850 and 1910, cut through the forests of Bagnoles, La Ferté-Macé, La Ferté-Vidame, Écouves, Senonches, etc.

153 photographs mounted on 66 sheets of strong cardboard and carefully captioned in ink. They offer a vivid glimpse of hunting in French high society before the 1914 war. They feature the great names of the French aristocracy and haute bourgeoisie, including Colonel de Lestapis, Viscount de Fayet, A. Morgon, the Marquise d'Aligre, the Marquis de Boury, Roger Laurent (who took over the crew), Count and Countess Le Marrois and many others.

Photographs of the crew's guests and staff are complemented by those of the buttons, horses and dogs, as well as of numerous châteaux (Chambray, Les Bois-Francs, Les Houlles, La Ferté-Vidame, Les Vaux, Avoise, etc.).

The Bibliothèque nationale de France holds a similar album, also produced for the capture of the fifteen-hundredth stag by the same crew.
